Deirdre Ryan broke the Irish women’s Indoor high jump record with a leap of 1.93m in Germany in January to break the 1.90m record she set in Glasgow four years ago. Ryan’s record qualifies her for the ‘B’ standard for the World Track and Field Championships in Berlin next August and she is just two centimetres shy of the ‘A’ qualification standard. Ryan's visit to the Odyssey is part of her build-up for the European Indoor Championships in Turin.
